Temporary Pedestrian & Services Bridge alongside Existing Road Bridge to Railway
During extensive refurbishment of an existing road bridge structure over the railway Condesco Technical Services were required to design a scaffold which would allow the public to cross the railway lines confidently and safely.

Existing services were required to be re-routed and carried on the scaffold bridge adjacent to the public footpath

Included in the brief was a requirement to have site access alongside the railway.
This was to prevent operatives & plant being blocked by the scaffold and going on to the railway when passing to the other side of the main bridge works

The design below was proposed after visiting the site, surveying and photographing the situation

General Arrangement & Details of Temporary Bridge
A set of “temporary” standards were proposed that would be used during construction to ensure the stability of the main central support pier.
Once the main scaffold beam bridge structure was in place the temporary standards were removed to allow the required 4.8m gap requested to be provided. The standards were replaced to ensure a safe dismantling of the scaffold

Innovation in the approach to meeting our client’s requirements allows Condesco Technical Services to assist in successful outcomes
